I am sure this has been discussed ad nauseum, but my searches of previous messages havent found the answer I am looking for, so I beg for both your patience and assistance while this newbie asks a question: I have a question about wheels for my 2002 Disco 2. I want to get a second set of wheels for offroading. Right now, my disco is equipped with 255-55-r18 tires and I want to know what a good tire is that will give me another inch or so of clearance at the diffs, but still be able to turn full bore without worrying about rubbing the wheelwells. I do not have a lift on the truck. Any suggestions on tire sizes/combinations that would work for the truck without having to go through a warranty-voiding lift solution? Should I go with 15 inch wheels or 16s? Just need some guidance. If I do change to a larger set of tires, how much of a negative effect will it have on the torque while crawling or climbing? Thanks. I appreciate it. Jess Alvarez Phoenix, Arizona |

get some steel or alloy 16 inch rims and 245-75/16. Gain .75 inch in clearence. You'll barely notice any negative effects |

Hey thanks for that. Ok...now...I have been told the D2 has a different bolt pattern than the D1. Is that true? Will 5 x 6.5 wheels fit on my D2? If not, what pattern does the D2 have? Thanks. |

Different bolt pattern completely. You have the same bolt pattern as a new style RR. Buy some used RR wheels from roversland.com or something. Be sure to tell them what you're buying them for so they ship the right ones. I bought some for studded tires on my rangie, for $300/set. |
