I had my discovery towed last week by my local parking authority. Didnt have a resident sticker for my town as I was waiting for the last seller to send me the title. My first concern was that they never opened the car door to put it in neutral or anything like that. I noticed slight marks on the rear tires where it appears they lifted the truck but nothing on the fronts. What is the proper way to tow this truck and what could happen if it is towed by only 2 the fronts or rears without putting the truck in to neutral? They only had to tow it about 6 blocks as my town is only a mile square. There are a lot of landrovers in my small town so I would like to assume they know how to tow this truck, just wondering what the right way to tow this truck is.. |

full-time four wheel drive has to be pulled up onto a flatbed and transported, not towed. If they just lifted the front or rear, then they dragged it six blocks, they didn't tow it. |

Flatbed! Only way recommended by Land Rover and everybody else. I have to question a town that tows vehicles without resident parking stickers. What do they do for visitors? And I thought my neighborhood Nazis were bad! |

The standard way to tow cars to the pound in Toronto is with dollies on one set of wheels so that no wheels are on the ground. Is this not sufficient? Or do I have to make sure I'm never towed? I don't think that they do this out of concern for the vehicle. It just drives up their profit margin. They would wash the car at the pound for $60 if they could get away with it. |
