Does a Disco II need wading plugs?

A wading plug is found on a manual transmission... hence, US DIIs won't have 'em, being all automatic-transmissioned.....

they are also found on the axles in some markets but we have breathers attached to ours so we don't need them there either.

No, DII's have axle breather tubes also. For wading however, they should be lengthened, especially the rear axle breather.

Land Rover has a TIB (technical information bulletin) out to lengthen the rear axle breather tube due to what they call "water ingress". This would be free if your DII is still under warranty. I believe I saw this mentioned once before but the TIB number is 51/01/02/NAS for vehicles up to VIN number 2A755880. Vehicles after this number left the factory that way.

P.S: notice I lost the all caps this time

This breather runs up to about 3/4 of the way up the tail lamp on the left hand side which should be good enough for anything less that a drowning.
