Hi All, I have 99 Disco/56K miles. Recently started to notice that the temp gauge needle keeps rising & falling from the half way point to the red, but doesn't steam over or anything. Then the needle will go back to middle of the gauge. And the process will repeat itself. Happens on hwy driving & city driving. Checked the coolant level ok, checked for leaks nothing, radiator fins are pretty clean. Any ideas? |

A '99 DI or a '99DII? DIs are known for having "odd" temp gauges.... could be the coolant temp sender, could be a Lucas short, who knows..... Good luck... -L |

I had that happen in mine, and when I took it in they said I had low compression in half my cylinders. Once they fixed it I have had no problem with it. |
