Mke H,

The rears are a 6" 2 way, much of anything will be an improvement, I replaced all mine with Infinty Kapras and put a Base tube in place of the rear door speakers.

Hey Mke H,

I don't know what Model/Year Disco you have but I have a '95 and it had 4" full range speakers in the rear pillars. If your going to keep the stock head unit then I'd stick to a speaker with a high sensivity rating being that there isn't alot of power coming out of that "amplifier" included with the stock system. I changed the whole system in my Disco and I stayed with the stock size speaker in the rear. I wish I would've went up to a 6 1/2" or 6 3/4" full range. I'm pretty sure it would've fit and the sound difference would've been very noticable.

As far as brands go I really like Rockford Fosgate and Polk Audio. With all due respect to Disco Dad, I went with 4" Infinity Kappa's in the rear and I couldn't be more disappointed. The high's are overbearing and the mid's are non existant! And they are not cheap at all! I replaced the front 4" full range speakers with Rockford Fosgate components and they sound great!!! Pretty much anything that you replace the factory speakers with is going to sound better, so don't sweat it. Good Luck and I hope this helped.

The Kapras sound fine to me, it could be a combination of amps 2 sony ((forgot the model)) and the new Head unit a Pioneer DEH-P7400MP works great not as described above... XM raido rocks
