Does anyone have a manual for removing the front bumper and grill of a DII, if you do can you fax or scan them please. 312 949 9642 [email protected] My RTE FT bumper is on the way and I will be installing it ASAP. Are there any special procedures to removing the front end without deploying the SRS and can I use the pre existing fog lamp wiring for my Hella's or do I have to rewire. Thanks Ross Thoma |

I can tell you that the removal of the front bumper is easy, although time consuming. I can't get to my manual right now to e-mail you, but I can give you a very helpful hint. Get a very sturdy kitchen fork. This makes the removal of the plastic rivets securing the wheel well liners a snap. It's pretty obvious how to use it when you look under there. Also, none of the SRS componants are located there, so you needn't worry about airbag deployment. Can someone else provide the page for Ross here? Cheers, Kennith |

Well, there's no way I can make a copy of my manual page, so I'll just read it to you. 1. Remove 14 screws securing wheel arch liners. (These are the screws on the front, outside of the wheel well, and along the top of that arch liner pannel. Turning the front wheels a bit, and a short phillips screwdriver helps here a lot!) 2. Disconnect the fog lamp multiplugs. 3. Remove 2 nuts securing bumper sides to body. (These are in very hard-to-reach places, at the very end/side of the bumper, inside. They secure the body to the bumper via a couple of rubber bushings.) 4. Remove 4 nuts securing bumper to crush cans, and remove bumper from body. (Pull straight out.) At this point, you will be trailing the headlamp washer tube. Be careful not to yank this off. If you can, set the bumper on the ground, and disconnect the tube from the pump by simply pulling it off. Now your bumper is off. You will need to remove/reposition the windshield washer tank, and remove the brackets that secure the bumper sides to the body. I suggest you start another thread about washer tank repositioning. Removing the crush cans, and steering protector bar are simple from here, just a couple of bolts. |

I'm not taking off my front bumper, but what in the world does the windsheild washer tank have to do with removing the bumper? Just wondering... JR |

The tank is behind the front bumper, in front of the left hand front wheel, actually touching the wheel arch liner. When the front bumper is removed, it's exposed, and looks really funny. Depending on the replacement bumper, it may still be exposed, and need to be relocated. |

I emailed a PDF of the Brush Bar installation. It contains a rough outline of how to remove the bumper. |

Yeah, DIIs have some definite oddities to them... Why on earth they thought we needed headlamp washer jets is beyond me. At least it wasn't one of those washer/wiper doohickeys like Benz' have! |

hi everyone, I just installed the factory fog lamps on my disco II SD. This is the instructions from disco2.com that Sean Butler-Lee gave me. Thanks to him: http://www.disco2.com/foglamps/ Does anyone know how to enable these fog lamps by testbook? |
