I need a 52mm or 2-1/16 socket to remove the hub nut. Anyone know where I can pick one up locally in San Francisco area? Thanks.

A socket for a heating element on a water heater. Some are the same size, but, some are smaller, so, you need to check it before you buy.

FWIW...

Try Northern Tool and Supply... or a similar store. They carry sockets that you could wear as a hat.

2 1/16 is a very common front hub size on many american made 1/2 ton 4x4 so the sockets can be had realy easy for under 20 bucks

any napa store will have a area with hub sockets, just go take a look they will have it

Go to the "big wall" at Sears (where they have the 3/4" drive tools). I bought mine for about $20 and I'm the envy of all my friends.

They also make handsome drink holders.

be careful that the wall isn't too thick on the socket, i tried to use a 2-1/16 snap-on socket and it wouldn't fit.
