I have a 1995 Disco that has been serviced regularly. Recently I shifted the vehicle into difflock to cross a sand dune, while travesing the dune I noticed a melting plastic or burning oil kind of smell but by then I had crossed the dune and was on my way with the diff lock off. Over the weekend I shifted the difflock on and it made a slight whine (sounds like it hestitates) when I slowly accelerate. If I slow down no noise is made or if I accelerate quickly no noise is made. What could this be? Last night I greased all the U-joint on the driveshaft and topped off the transfer case (it was only a bit low)Are their any vacuum hoses or linkage that needs adjusting? |
