On my 1996 4.0 litre Disco, a yellow wire, near the passanger end of the ECU fell our of the wire-block. It still has the end cap on it, and I can push it back into the block. However, there are three possibilities. Does anyone know where this goes. There is one black wire on the end, and then the empty spots. I discovered this trying to track down a CHECK ENGINE light. TIA. |

check to make sure all of your speakers are working.....sounds silly, but the yellow wire controls the left front speakers in the factory amp.... |

OK, it's strange the radio is controlled by the ECU; but that still begs my question, which spot on the ECU plug does this go into? |

Jon, it's either the remote keyfob antenna wire (which is supposed to be yellow, according to troubleshooting manual), or some oddball wire that has no meaning that can be explained by any LR literature (as in m 96 Disco). Just tuck the mofo outta the way, and live in peace. if you're curious, it's not the ECU, it is theft alarm box you're talking about. peter |

Who said anything about the footwell? He just mentioned passenger side. The ECU on a 96 is on the passenger side fender. And the ECU has several plugs (blocks) some of which have yellow wires. Am I missing something? |
