On a '95 Disco, my back door will not open. The handle is in the "UP" position. It won't open from the inside either. Do I first attack this from the outside first and disassemble the handle? Or start with the inside of the door and pull the speaker, trim etc.?? The Haynes book and LR service book are not too helpful. I would appreciate your help! - Jay - |

pop the green l/r oval off the back handle with a small screwdriver, use a normal screwdriver and push the handle back and then lube the handle hinges.this should work. |

if your handle will not move down then your latch may be jammed, this is not that common but can happen.you will need to remove the inside panel from inside(not fun)and try to release it that way.then replaced the latch. |

All good ideas. I tried the WD-40. No go. I poped the interior panel. I tried to pry it open but it is hard to see what to pry! With the door closed, me in the back trying to see,and trying to figure out what moves what, it's a B_ _ ch! I'll give it another try. Any other ideas? The indy shop I use (Land Rover Garage in Northern Cal) may be my next trick! Thanks. - Jay - |

This happen to me after the Wife slammed the door. There is a rod inside of the door the laches to the lock. This rod fell down inside of the door. Its a $50 fix at the dealership, I ofcorse could not get in there to get it, its very tight. Britt |
