The Antilock activates on my 95 D1 once every few times I brake, and under normal braking conditions. Probably more often when I brake harder. After a few times of this happening throughout the trip, the yellow ABS light comes on and it stops activating (I'm assuming since the light means the system is disfunctional). I've been told by one mechanic that it could be from one of the wheel sensors, but I thought I should bring this up to the experts!!!! if it is one of the sensors, what's the easiest way to find out which one (other than the dealer) thanks in advance, Allen M. |

it is a faulty speed sensor that thinks your wheels are locking up when they are not.this will cause your abs to enguage.since your light came on it should be easy to find which one is faulty.i dont know if an aftermarket scan tool can retreive these codes or not. |

Been there, done that. Either too large an air gap on a sensor or a sensor needs to be replaced. When the sensor is totally shot, the ABS light will stay on permanently. |

Same thing happened to me and everyone told me it was a sensor and thats also what the code said (front right ABS sensor) but after spending the money on sensors it still happened. Long story short - It was the a worn weel beering. I hope its only a loose sensor. Good Luck |

worn wheel bearing is a cheap but more involved fix. in my case, it was some of the wheel sensors that went bad. more expensive fix, but really simple. btw, it was crapping out every now and then, but ABS light tended to stay off. peter |

I have seen a number of Discos that have abs issues similar to what has been described. Certainly a worn wheel hub bearing will knock the sensors back far enough to give an air gap fault code , but so will a disintegrating cv joint-to stub axle bearing. Only slightly more involved then hub bearings and cheap enough that we almost always replace them when we replace brake rotors. |

Use an ohm meter to check the resistance of each sensor. Unplug the sensor and meter at the plug. A good sensor will have a small resistance and a bad once will be an open cicuit. This worked in my case. I was having the same problem but eventually, my ABS light stayed on all the time. Hope it helps, Jim |

Mine been going on for about four months on my 94 Disco so I drove the Rangie for six months without even turning the DISCO on so the battery died. I drove the Disco the other day with no more ABS light but now it's the SRS. |
