For a DI or a DII?

DI, Series wheels work great, and are cheap. Check at Thatched Roof Garage

tirerack.com

$50 each for D2 but I think they are delayed for a while. Not on the web site - you have to call them an ask for "winter wheels"

Leslie,

Can you only get those 5 inch wide jobbies, or did series wheels come in 7 inch?

There were several different widths....

The 16" wheel for 88" Series Rovers was a 6.5". 109" Rovers used a 7.5" wheel.... which is common to use on 88" Rovers too....

I'll check w/ David and see what he has....

88s used either 5in or 5.5in

109s were either 5.5in or some 1 tons and US 110s had 6.5in

That's what I thought too, Ron, but when I looked it up it said 6,6.5, and 7.5 for the widths.....

Maybe I need to look up elsewhere..... :)

Do the 16x6.5" NATO's go alright on the D1? I noticed on Dunlop's site that the 235/85/16 Radial Rover RT tires are recommended for the 6.5" rim width.

look elsewhere leslie :) Unless my measuring tape is off :)

Mateu,

yes, Nato's fit fine. The only difference between NATOs and NAS 110 wheels is the holes in the NATOs

RN's catalogs are WRONG! lol.....

:)

From David:
Old 88 rims are 5"
109 rims are 5.5"
Nato are 6"
And he also has 1 set of 8-spoke 7" rims

L,
Who can't forgive one lacking in the precious roasted bean crude?
BTW, those NATO's were brand spanking new and had been sitting in the guys spare bedroom for a year. His wife put on the pressure to get rid of them if he wasn't going to use them. He's asking $70 each for five. RN has them at $98. Can that price be beat on these?

I personally couldn't say.... I've not looked at buying NATOs....

Ask David what he sells a set for, [email protected], website is Thatched Roof Garage.... they might be on his website...

Hmmm, there they are, http://www.thatchedroofgarage.com/Parts.htm, his usual price is listed at $85. Big difference is, you've got them there, where you don't have shipping. So.... there ya go...

Freight on five of those American Racing wheels at GCR can't be less than $50, though.

Here's a picture for ya..
On the left is the NATO rim, the right is the standard 109 rim.

Folks seem to measure from different places. Out side to outside gives you a bigger wheel than actual. I think Industry Standard is to measure inside to inside.

Sorry 'bout the picture quality, it's hard to get a lot of detail in 50K (jab..jab)

Shipping from TX to my house in VA is $74.00 for all five of them together. So $75.80 a rim for me.

For what it's worth, I have a set of 5" 88 wheels (running 215/85R16) and a set of 5.5" 109 wheels (running 7.5R16).

Also, and I have no interests myself, I think the Rovers Down South deal seems pretty good if you're looking for wheels and tires:
