I NEED HELP! I NOTICE WHEN I WASHED MY 1994 D1 WATER SETTLES IN THE PASSENGER SIDE CAR MAT AND IT APPREARS TO COMES OUT THE HEATER BLOWER. I KNOW THE LEAK IT COMING THROUGH FRONT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEN I APPLIED WATER TO THE WINDSHIELD. CAN IT BE THE RUBBER LINING THAT MEETS THE WINDSHIELD AND SEEPS THROUGH THE AIR INTAKE OUTSIDE AND IF IT IS HOW DO I CORRECT IT

I'm in the same boat and would love to find out how to fix this. On occasion, I can see a trail of water droplets about 1/3 of the way in on inside of the passenger side of the windshield. I caught it when snow melted. The rear view mirror was also dripping a little water too. Oddly enough, I get some wind noise when I get past 40-50 mph from what seems to be the top of the passenger side of the windshield, but I'm not certain.

I read the archives and some point to the sunroof water drains being clogged. Could it be this or could the windshield actually be leaking?

Thanks,
Santo

CR367,
Another dwebber helped me through this once before. You need to crawl under your rigs and look for two rubber drains (they look like the nozzles on the top of a whipped cream can) located on both sides of the tranny. Trust me they are there, use a flashlight or trouble light and you should find them. Straighten a piece of coat hanger and carefully push it inside the openings of the drains (don't lay right under, scummy water might flow out once the coat hanger dislodges the blockage). If you have access to a syringe or a turkey baster, mix up a solution of hot soapy water and inject it into the drains (repeat until water drains clear). Once again don't lay underneath, I had leaves and a bunch of other crap come running out. email me if you need any more help.

I cleaned the tubes on my 95, both were clogged but water still leaks in. I'm beginning to think its a self cleaning mat feature that is not covered in the owners manual.

I recommend you 1st to clean this two drains (you dont have to use needles or so, you can extract the end pieces, and clean them outside the car).
If you still found water in the carpet, ask somebody to pour water specially between the black plastic piece below windscreen and the rubber band. You may see if water comes in, (remove glove box). If you find water at this moment, you have to seal carefully with black silicone the surface between rubber and plastic.
Then, no more problems with water
I hope you will understand my eventual spelling mistakes (my language is spanish)

CR367 and Santo,
What Bryan said is correct but not for you. There was another service bulliten put out that pretty much explains your problem. It is pretty extensive. Email me and I will send you a copy.
