When I lock my doors they click click really loud. And I have to lock it with my key. Which is a real pain in the ass. Its my front driver side and passenger rear. I know this has prob come up alot, but if you could point me to previous dissusions or or the right direction. I have a 96 disco. Or maybe someone has a diagram in which i could look at to fix the problem myself. Thanx Sean |

My 1998 does the same thing its the door lock actuator about 150 from Roverconnection over 360 for the dealer to do. I replaced mine in about 45 minutes. |

If its making a click-click-click type noise, its might be the two halves of the actuator splitting apart and the gears not meshing correctly. Try taking some tie wraps and wrapping them around the actuator really tightly to hold the halves together. It worked for me. |

Try the zip ties but if that doesn't work it's probably the internal gears in which case you need to replace it. Aftermarket actuators work great and fit the same hole's as I remember. I sell Spal aftermarket actuators at my shop for $20 each. It is a crime to waste your money on originals if they are getting that kind of money for them. I have installed dozens of the Spal actuators and they rarely go out. I can only think of a couple that gave out and those were several years old. Shane "qsiguy" http://www.c4caraudio.com |
