Anyone know the trick to removing the center console trim on an LSE disco I (one piece "wood" trim for the console and window switches). Shop manual says to pry it off, but that doesn't seem the way at all... TIA |

Thats pretty much it, you almost have to break it! Its tricky but with a little prying and pulling it should pop off. Thats how it was with mine at least. |

Yup, just work your way evenly around the edge of the trim and it should pop-off. |

Under the High/Low range shifter there are two phillips screws. The boot around the shifter is clipped into placewith the latch potion towards the front of the console. Pry the boot up, remove the two screws (stubby phillips), remove the bezel around the transmission shifterand the wood trim comes right up. Clips in the back near the window switches. This is how mine is anyhow, 98 LSE. Good Luck, Jim |
