Is anyone out there that has or has tried dual exhaust on a Disco? Seems to be plenty of room and the performance and mileage might be improved.

Jake,

There is a guy on the D2 Yahoo list that has converted a D2 to a sweet looking dual exhaust. Last I checked he loves it. His name is Ross Mabey. Maybe he will chime in.

very easy, if you want to do it silghtly illegal.

i have two pipes that come off of the manifold and end a striaght pipe (each side). you can put a cat on then run pipes stright out or , you could run just stright pipe, assuming you truck is not street legal.

i'll post picture tonight

you could also just leave the cats on where they are and split into two after that.

and then you get to buy two mufflers. Joy.

or go from each cat to a 2 into 2 muffler and the duels from there...may? net you a little torque gain from the cross pulse effect.

Dual exhaust is highly over rated. It looks great, granted, but does not give the performance gains one might think. It also costs a lot more if you have to buy two mufflers and run new pipes. If you want the look, cut off your stock muffler and buy a 1 into 2 muffler. This will bolt right to your existing pipe from the cats back. All you have to do then is run new pipes from the dual muffler exit. I would simply run a higher flow single muffler with a slightly larger diameter outlet. This will net you some good gains and cost less. If you really want performance, cut off those old cats and run a single super flow cat and high flow muffler. The power and fuel mileage is greatly noticeable.
