Hey friends, I just replaced my driveshafts with D/C and low speed vibes are gone, clunk is gone, but it seems to be pulling to the right and I get a vibe around 72+mph. I'm sure I need a new steering dampener mine may be stock at 112000. Should I just go ahead and get a reloc too? which one? and could that help the pull and vibe? It also seems to diminish the vibe if I'm turning left at those speeds. So... I'm also considering retorquing the shaft bolts??? Any help? thanks, Mike J. |

That vibe that you get at 72mph is it accompanied by a loud bass noise as well? |

I think that's correct. |

What lift do you have and how much? Do you have any reworked trailing links or front arms? The reason that I ask is due to I get that same vibe at 75mph with a really load bass noise till about 80mph and then every thing is fine again till I drop down to 80mph... Just trying to figure out if you have the same issue as me.. |

Yep and I bet it will feel the same with no front shaft as well.. Do you have the RTE rear trailing links? Also what size tires are you running right now? |

Don't know about those.. Hmm, you are running bigger tires then me so that may explain the different speeds of our vibes and bass noise.. Interesting... Have you checked your alignment since you did the lift? You could be getting the pull from that..That and check your tire pressure.. If your damper is that old I would replace it and get the RTE track, cross rod, and relo kit.. It is a little pricey but, it's worth it.. Yes I have run with no front shaft every thing was fine except the loud bass noise at 75-80.. Ran with just the rear shaft and same thing.. Both shafts still same thing.. I can't figure it out.. That's why I was asking you about it as I think it is odd that you have the same issue.. Who's shafts did you buy? |

GBR HD D/C front and S/C Rear. Tire pressure is 36front 40 rear. No Alignment done. Can a bad dampener cause pull? |

Well you are going to want to do the alignment cause the lift and arms will change the angles around a little so you may be a little off.. I would think that the dampener would only start acting funny when you go over bumps not all the time.. But, then you never know.. I would get the front aligned and then see if it still pulls. |

Why can't you safely drive at 75 Rob? Hell around here (N.VA) if you don't you'll get rear ended.. |

Eric Been reading your posts about the loud bass noise. Noticed on a recent road trip from NY to NC that I have the same exact noise happening above 75 mph. With the noise is a very slight vibration, nothing bad. I did a 2 inch OME HD lift and developed vibrations. Turned out the the rear shaft was causing the vibes. Replaced the shaft with a GBR DC shaft and the vibes went away. All I have now is that bass noise that really comes and goes, never really constant. My guess it's the DC shaft that is causing it as this only started to occur after it was installed. I just drive at 72 mph and it's smooth and quiet as can be. Hope this helps. Regards Brian |

I've got a ome hd fr+r, 235 85 16 pep boys mt's and a rotoflex, all clean and quiet all the way up to the speedo reading 85 mph, stayed there for about 1 hr, although i never trust a tire's balance, i gave the mount and balance guy 100$ to mount and balance 5 tires and then to recheck the balance, 3 were still ok after the first balance, with never putting them back on the rover, I've got 71k on the 97 D1, Mabey you need a good balancing typically a 30-31 " tire will start to shake at about 70 mph, Good luck!!!! |
