I have noticed noise coming from the various pumps, alternator, pulleys, etc, that are on the belt in my '94 Disco. i.e. the water pump (I think, I can't remember for sure.) is making a whirrrring noise. This is not the usual loud fan noise. I was wondering if I should lubricate the pumps, alternator, etc, with anything? What? Silacone spray, grease, graphite? Thanks http://landrover.mrbaileyshistory.net |

P.S. I just found out that "Simple Green" (get it at Costco) is very good for cleaning you engine, it is biodegradeable and nontoxic, and it works! http://landrover.mrbaileyshistory.net |

Several manufactuers recommend NOT USING Simply Green on aluminum. If it's left on to long it can eat the metal. There were a couple of posts about this...check the archives.. Cheers, Frank |

well if it worked cool. my power steering pump started whirring, then started grinding, two days after it was grinding, it bit the big one. easy to replace, and $300 from DAP. just as a warning. |
