My brother-in-law asked me what size the rear end is in the Discoveries. I have no idea what it is so I am asking here. I assume he is looking for something like "9 inch" etc. Also what size are the shafts? |

Brian: I don't know if this will help in your discussion, however, the third members of Rovers are a near exact swap for Toyota 4X4s, to the extent that they can be interchanged fairly easily. This may help you out, or it may not. Patagonian Toothfish-cool, I wonder if they taste good? Peace, Paul |

Thank you for the info Paul. As for the size of a small patagonian toothfish, I figured it was liken to the size of the sphincter after I put my foot up someone's ass. |

Paul, Can you please elaborate on the Toyota parts that are interchangeable with a Disco. I'm thinking or re-gearing my truck and I'm curious if any Toyota parts are an option. Thanks! Neal |

The rumor is that the centerline distance from the toy diff face (where it bolts on) is the same as a rover diff. Add to that that the bolt pattern is "pretty close" And it's an "exact fit!" After that you're looking at special axles, driveshaft flanges and other stuff.. Cool thing is that you you can get real hypoid gears and a front high pinion to fit your rover... Problem is $$$$$ If your gonna change gears you might want to wait, i've heard from two sources that someone is going to go Public with a kit... |
