Hello, Please help the new guy. I have a 99 D ll. Installed ARB bumper yesterday and have a few questions. What are the black rubber tubes on the fog lights for and what should I do with them now that the lights/spoiler are gone? Is there a good alternate method of strenghing the frame/crush can union other than drilling and placing the 10mm bolt? (I so far have been unsuccessful with the last task). Thanks. David (aka the FNG) |

David, The black tubes are breather tubes so when wadding, water does not enter the fog lights. I removed them with the stock bumper. Some people have modified the crush cans see ARB winch bumper airbag version, under tech section on this site. I just used the bolts that came with it & it has worked fine. Brian |

Brian, Thanks for the response. I ended up having the crush cans lightly tack welded to the frame. The problem I encountered while drilling the hole for the vertical bolt was not being able to clear the horizontal bolts. I did not want to impair the airbag fuction by modifing the crush cans. What aftermarket lights can be safely connected to the existing fog lamp harness? David |

David, Search the archives on this site, there have been alot of write ups on this. I think you can hook up the same size wattage lamps to the factory harness & be safe but anything higher you should re wire. I ran two Hella 4000's with the Hella wiring harness & put an extra switch inside. Brian |
