I took my 98 D1 into some deep puddles today. It drove fine until I turned it off and then it would not start again... I let it sit for 5 hours and then it started fine but an hour later it wouldn't start again.. all i hear is a clicking from the computer under the glove compartment then it just turns over... and ideas what is going on?

It's happened to me before. I have no explanation for it except that something got wet. I let it sit overnight and got her started, but then the engine quit the next day. After spending the night in the dealer lot, she started fine the next day and has been running splendidly ever since. It's just going to be a really frustrating waiting game. Sorry.

Take that plastic cover off the ECU and see if there's moisture present on the connectors. WD-40 on all your electrical connections will displace any water in them.

ECU is under the hood, on the passenger side along the fender on my 96. Mounted flush to the fender wall at the top. My plastic cover had come loose and water from a storm ran over the hood and dumped in on the ECU connector. I RTVd it back in place and it's been OK since. I occasionally have trouble starting in dry conditions and believe to have either an intermittant fuel pump relay, or bad crank position sensor. Is your "check engine" light on ?

Check the mullex connector that sits on the frame just inside the drivers side rear wheel, this multi plug is for the fuel pump, mine got soaked, and there i sat for 2 hrs, until i jumped the pump from the batt, mabey somehow this will help! Good luck.
