Will DII seats fit in a DI? Is anything needed to convert?

I suspect that the d2 seats are a mere update of the d1. and a far more comfortable one at that.
I'd check the seat mounts and electrical connection first though.....

What about rear seats - has anyone done that - i wonder because the DII is wider in the body.

Front seats might work, as the mounting is similar. Ask someone who has taken both apart. I'll look at the mounts on our D2 and our neighbor's 99' D1 (both are electric seats)and make a guess.

Back seat (the middle one in the 7-seater),
NO WAY! The seat is very different, due to the center belt/shoulder harness. It locks into recessed bars in the floor at the bottom-rear (much more secure). Unfortunately, the D2 middle seat has almost no room underneath it for storage. I can fit all kinds of stuff (tools, recovery gear,rescue/extrication stuff, jumper cables, etc)beneathe the middle seat of the D1 or Classic Range Rover.

Rear jump seats, again, NO WAY! Inside quarter panels and floor panels are different so you can not bolt the old D1 jumpseats in a D2 (although I bet someone like Kyle could fabricate a bolt-in subframe to adapt D1 seat mounts to the D2 interior). Also the rear of the D1 is not long enough to fit foreward facing seats (the D2 is barely long enough for my 34" legs).

As an "experiment" I'll do a trial installation of the middle seat from our 91 Rangie Clasic (with it's more upright seating and full armrests) into the 95 disco. I'll let you know how that works out.

Good Luck

I have a 95 Disco - my problem is that the middle seat only has a sash belt (ie around pelvis only) and no head rests in any seating position for adults. Does the RR classic of around the same year have a decent centre seat - ie proper lap-sash belt in middle and head rests?

Cheers
