I have a really noisy ride on the highway due to wind coming in through the door. It seems the window frame is slightly bent outward, not keeping a good seal against the upper part of the inside door frame. Does anyone else experience this at all? Its worse when the wind is whipping. I'd like to fix it, maybe using another type of window seal. Any suggestions? Kris 99 Disco I |

I feel for you Kris. Mine is a 98. Saturday I was testing out the top speed now that I got bigger tires. After about 80mph the top of the window frame gets sucked outward enough that I could see daylight between the frame and the rubber door seal. Really noisy, especially after 95mph. Comon guys someone has got to know a fix for this. |

I briefly thought about pulling on the window frame to see if I could bend it back some. It would seriously suck if I broke my door. |

How about 30 or 40 wraps of duct tape around the whole truck. Should keep the top of the doors in place. Duct tape, the miracle cure............ |

Yes Greg, that probably would work. It would also make it harder to get in and out off the truck. Kris, I find that when the window frame pulls away you can actually pull it back in by hand and reseal it. Off course, as soon as you let go, wind comes back in. Why dont you be the first to experiment and see if you can bend it back. Let me know how it works and I'll do it too. Dan. |

No thanks. But I am going to find some type of material with an adhesive back to add to the existing weather striping. I'll let you guys know if I'm successful. |

Kris, thats exactly what I was thinking to do also. I was going to do a strip or two of double sidded tap on the weather striping and then maybe a layer of electrical tape? Let me know how yours works out. I really do want to fix mine to. |

I fixed my wind noise problem this weekend. Went to Lowe's Hardware and picked up some auto/rv weather stripping. I ended up cutting about an 18" strip and placing it right next to the existing weather strip. It works just great. This weekend has been very windy; took a few test drives on the highway and I don't hear the wind cutting in any more. |

A friend of mine had the same problem with his Disco. He pulled the window frame in and it worked fine for him. I have the same problem with mine. I've pulled a little bit and it's helped a little bit. I haven't reefed on it really hard yet though! |
