i'm addressing this to oliver, but anyone else may chime in. i just replaced my heater core that had sprung a leak, but now i have a wet floorboard again on the passenger side (u.s.). before i tear into the dash again to check my heater core connections and o-rings, i am curious about the a/c drains you were referring to that also dump water in the floorboard. i am getting an antifreeze odor like before, but not as bad. also, the carpet is more wet than slimy, and the puddle under the passenger side doorsill isn't green like before. as i just noticed this on my way to work this morning, i haven't had time to (yet, again) pull the carpet up. this all sounds like the a/c drain problem you were citing, but why am i getting the antifreeze smell? what's your prognosis? |

easy to check a/c drains... crawl under truck and on either side of transmission (located in line or just in front of the shift lever) are 2 lines that drain a/c tray for ds & ps.. they have little nipples on them to keep dirt out of them. once you find them (they are pretty obvious once you know what you are looking for) get out of the way and pull the nipples off (if its clogged, you will get soaked if you are under them) If there isn't any water poring out of them you can try and use a long pipe cleaner or something not rigid to stick up the pipes to ensure the clogs aren't at the drain tray.. if still nothing.. i'd double check your heater core connections... |

ok, this worked. no more puddles or antifreeze smell. my lines were clogged. apparantly, the odor was coming from the water hitting the dried antifreeze in that foam rubber under the carpet. at any rate, this, for the first time, was a quick, easy fix. thanks again. |
