Hi i need now to change my rear rotors as the pads lost all their meat and the bones started to dig into my rotors on a long trip. i could not take the time to change them. i knew they were close to their min thickness anyhow. But i one time tried to change the fronts and got scared at the bearing preload part and took them to a shop. Is this something i can attempt at home, and any advice or links to advice or help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. IT IS A 96 DISCO. |

Don't worry about the bearing preload. Check out http://www.spanishtrailrovers.com/Tech/Maintain/maintain.html. A good tip when removing the rotors is to place the hub into the wheel (the one you removed) to hold it steady while you unscrew the rotor bolts. |
