I love the TRC on my 02 Disco - but one thing it takes is getting used to. What a lot of motoring writers in Australia simply dont get is that you have to DRIVE the TRC - ie you respond with throttle inputs (gentle but definite usually) when it is responding to the terain changes; it takes a while but the results are amazing.

Has anyone driven an 03 with CDL in challengeing off road conditions, who has also driven a DSII in similar off road conditions who can compare?

Scott, TRC I assume is ETC (aka Traction Control)? I have a 1999 DII that I've added the CDL to. It's a world of difference over the ETC alone. CDL+ETC is awesome but ETC alone really cripples what the DII is capable of. Many here with D2's in the 1999-2001 that can get the CDL have installed it.

Al, I think that the 2002 does not have the provision for it - I recall that on 99-2001 series you could crawl under with a spanner and activate it manually which of course meant you could customise it to do it from the cabin. I dont think I have that option, alas.

Cheers

True... but should the bug ever bite you could swap out the transfer case ;)
