I just put on a new set of OME HD springs and Bilstein shocks on my 97XD (big thanks to Peter Matusov for the help!). I have a slight vibe between 70-80mph. My rear shaft uses a U-Joint. If balancing the shaft does not solve the problem, has anyone changed the angle of the diff? Any other suggestions would be helpful. Also, if I do nothing to this, will I create problems in the future like damaging the U-Joints or diff? |

My suggestion would be to not go over 70 mph in a lifted disco |

Good point Carter. However the freeways in San Diego are pretty bad, you risk practically getting run over going less than 75, even in a big bright yellow XD. I don't normally go over 75, but now that I know the vibe is there, I want to get it fixed, or at least know that I am not risking damage to the diff or shaft. |

It is most likely the front that is the problem. Get a CV driveline and should make a big improvement. e-mail on the shop in El Cajon that has done a few for me. I have a 5" lift and drive 80 plus all the time. No problems. |

Also, check if you put the right rear OME spring for your DISCO. There is also a good shop in Temecula that specializes Jags and Rovers. Excellent customer service and job is way better than Pioneer. |
