I broke my driver side front door handle this morning (15 degrees here in MI) and I need to replace. Any suggestions on how to do this? I am waiting for pricing from both Rovercannibal and Nathan at Discount Rovers. Atlantic British wants $105. I am assuming the replacement will not be keyed correctly. Will a replacement work with the remote entry? Any other "gotchas" you all may have experienced??? Thank you very much for your assistance. John Petsch [email protected] |

John: Do you just need a part of the handle, or the entire assembly? As for the keying issue, it is fairly straight forward to remove your cylinder and transfer it to the new assembly, however, if you only need a single part (like the grabbie(!) part) you will be ahead to just pull the pin and slide the grabbie (what do you call that part?) out and replace with a good one. I might have some parts that will help you, let me know. I need to regain some of the good karma the folks here have shared with me in the past. Where are you in Michigan? I live in North East Indiana, but wheel up near Marquette. Paul |

search www.car-part.com you can get them used for $50 ish. i just did this job this weekend and it was quite easy. you'll need to peel off the inside door skin and unbolt the handle from in there. one you got the handle off you slide the old tumbler mechanism into the new slot. keep the key in it to make it easier. reassemble rd |

lol... I'm glad to know there are so many people here who have parts to offer. This is very cool. But anyone know what year his Disco is? The door handles on the D1 and D2 are not the same. |

Thanks to all! It is a 95 DI. It has the inset handles which differ quite a bit from the DII. John |
