I am thinking of trading my lemon of a freelander in on a 97 300Tdi disco.Could any body help me in regards to common problems and what to look for.I have been told bits and pieces about them e.g. water pump ,manifold gasket, transfercase seal and gearbox output shaft wear. However that what all I was told and wasnt given any further details on these problems or any others. If anyone can elaborate on these and any other probs it would be appreciatted,I dont want to go buying into a car blind. Also I am thinking of getting a auto as they have always had good reviews in the 4X4 magazines In Australia.Should I get an auto or are they a problem and I should stick to a manual?? Any help would be grateful!! Cheerz from Oz Tim |

You'll probably get more answers here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Discodownunder/ An OZ group for discoveries. Lots of Tdi owners. My Tip: which ever city your in, spend the dollars and get an independant LR expert to check it cause they know what it should look like/sound like/drive like. regards John (97 tdi in Sydney) |
