Hi all,I posted a message yesterday about overheating my 3.9 disco. As yet I am yet to determine extent of damage, but making inquiries to be prepared I found a couple of options I may be interested in following up regardless and wondered if anyone could add info. OPTION 1:Triumph rover spares can supply a stroker kit to fit to my 3.9 which will take it out to approx 5 litre and quoted 185kw.The cost for this kit is $3200 aust dollars. You also need fuel pressure mods at $200 aust dollars. OPTION 2:The same company can sell me a new 4.6 litre short engine and fit all my existing components at a cost of $4600 aust dollars. The prices quoted are without labour as I thought I may be able to do myself with the aide of a mechanic friend.Could you see any benefits from one to the other and has anyone had any exposure to these stroker kits. |

I ordered it from RPI. The engine got here in in a just over a week, the ECU on the other hand took about 2 1/2 weeks and that is with FedEx. They were slow on their end. The Disco runs Awesome. No need for gears now and the MPG's are way up. |

Shipping was only $325 for the engine and $82 FedEx for the ECU. But getting it cleared thru US Customs was $325 too. Free Trade?? My Butt. Next Time I will go try to clear it myself and save $100. Still cheaper then buying a new one from the dealer @ my cost. Just Do it. I live in San Diego. |
