I just moved to Denver and am looking for a good Disco mechanic. Can anyone make any suggestions? When I head up to elavations over 8000ft my engine will stall when I come to a stop and doesn't want to start unless I give it gas.

Thanks,

Jeoffrey

i just got a flyer in the mail for a place called "the sharper auto" in englewood stating that they do anything for any rover. and they are endorsed by atlantic british (for whatever thats worth).

i have no idea as to the quality of their work: their info; 303-468-1284, 4651 south broadway, englewood, co 80110.

other than that, dealerships are all i know about.

I also got that flyer, If you use them let us Denver folks know how it went.

Mike& Jeoffrey, I am also in Denver. Maybe we can hook up for some off roadin sometime.

i will will let everyone know if i use the sharper auto for anything. they are close to me and someone has to be the ginuea pig, might as well be me.

i may know a land rover tech who might do some 'after hours' work. i think he may get into some trouble at work if this becomes common knowledge so i may email him and i will let you know jeoffrey.

i definitely want to do some offroading with everyone, but am not much of a winter wheeler. but i would consider trying it out. btw eric, i am pretty sure i have seen you driving around on wadsworth - or at least a DII that is in your gallery (green, stickers on the body).

It's a good posability, I drive Wads alot. My wife drives it as well so if you see a women driving, it's her.
We just did a trail last weekend in Buena Vista and had no snow so wheelin in the winter might just be colder and dosent have to have snow. I only do easy trails with snow.

Mike, what does your Disco look like?

There is also Dave's Eruopean in Aurora. I've had some good experiences with them over the last year or 2.

I bought a few months ago a used Disco 95 in Boulder (181k). It had been fixed a year before by a guy located in Nederland who does work on RR. His name is Ron Peterson, and he used to work at Land Rover Flatirons. My DiscoI has now 185k and still works beautifully (except in a ditch with 3 ft of snow!)

I just called the "Sharper Auto" in Englewood and they wanted $65.00 for an oil change! Unfortunatly I don't have a place I can do it at my house.

Well shit, thats crazy. If there is now where to do it at your house bring it to a parking lot thats empty and do the damn oil change there. Hell, you can even bring it to my house if you want; don't pay $65.00 for an oil change!

Eric,

Thanks for the offer, thats really nice of you. One of my friends has a garage at his house, so I should be able to do it there. Have you made any mods to your suspension on your Disco?

$65 for an oil change! That's more than the dealership. What was their hourly rate?

Have any of you looked into joing one of the Land Rover Clubs here in Denver? There are two of them. The Rover Riders (www.roverriders.org) and the Solihull Society (www.solihullsociety.og). I am a member of the Solihull Society. We have a bulliten board on our website so feel free to ask local questions there.

Larry, I have had the intention of joining Solihull for some time now but have not had the time to go to meetings or let alone send in the app. Part of the great thing about Land Rovers are the comradery amoung us. I would love to be apart of that with Solihull.

Hey do you guys know of any garages where you take your tools and such, then place it on a real lift. I believe in CA they called them a coop garage. You could rent a bay and for this rental got certain use of things like oil disposal...

Cheers,

Bri

There was a good discussion about this on colorado4x4.org and no one knows of such a place. Its a good concept and we had them in the military for those who lived in the barracks.
