The anti-lock indicator light on my 96 disco dash comes on a few minutes after I start and drive the truck. But, the wheels don't lock up with heavy braking on wet streets. What steps do you suggest I take to solve this one? |

There's a host of information on this site about this. Often it's a problem with the ABS sensors. Anyways, if you do a search for ABS, you'll come up with more info than you ever wanted to know :-) It was my understanding that when the ABS warning light comes on, ABS is supposedly disabled. As Carter said, maybe you're low on brake fluid or have weak brakes for another reason. When ABS is working, you should hear the pump and you'll be able to tell that it's activating by how the brake pedal feels under your foot. If none of this is happening and you're still not skidding, then likely you also have problesm with weak brakes. |
