I have a 96 D1. The outside opening handle for the rear door has been sticking in the 'open' positon. Once the door swung open when stopping from a reverse. Questions.... 1. Is there an easy fix or is replacing it best? 2. If I have to replace the handle/lic. plate lights, how easy of a job? 3. Any tricks with the locking mechanism in a replacement? 4. How do you get the rear door panel off with out tearing it up? Thanks |

pry off the oval shaped land rover logo and the on the back door hands and spray a bunch of WD-40 or any kind of penetrating oil up in there and you should be good to go. |

Same problem on my 97 over the weekend. Popped off the LR oval and shot a couple squirts of the PB Blaster, then followed up with a liberal dose of the WD40. Better than new now. Be sure to wipe off what drips down under your license plate. |
