Has anyone installed the rockware rear pinion guard on a disco II?

I called them today and they said they have sold it to customers that have DIIs and the customers claim it works (although rockware has not tried it) but you have to remove the harmonic dampener from the rear diff, I looked under my DII today and it does not look hard to remove the dampener from the diff (3 bolts).

If I remove the dampener from the diff will there be any adverse effects to the DII?

Thanks

do you have two bolt holes in the bottom of the dif? say ~3" apart

Thats all the RW pinion guard mounts to on a DI

On a DI they are BSF thread (aka whitworth) so you need special bolts.

I measured it and they are the correct distance apart, I also called roveraccessories.com since I have heard that they have installed some on DII's. The guy I talked to said he has installed them on DII's and you install it under the dampner so no need to remove it. I also asked about the bolts and he said they reuse the stock bolts.

Well I have one on the way and will see how it works out.

Does anyone know what would happen if I remove the dampner that is bolted to the rear diff? If I remove it I could get an extra inch of clearance.

Thanks Ron

Just the rear, I am expecting it on Monday and will take pictures of the install and post the results.
