The full size roof rack from the dealer. I have found several lease end take offs for a D2, but have yet to find one for a D1. Will a D2 rack fit the D1? the dealer isn't very helpful, and doesn"t want me to trial fit one of their precious racks, what now??? Someone with a D2 rack care to measure width btwn feet? side to side, I'll try to get an accurate measure of my gutters! Thank you.

I'm also looking for a rack of my disco 1. Do you mind emailing me and letting me know where I can get one and how much they want?

Ummm,

From the FAQ @ www.disco2.com

Q. I found a nice rack from a earlier Discovery 1 Will it fit my DSII?

A. Yes. The distance between the drip rails is identical. The differences are the drip rail style and the length. Therefore, you must realize that the fit of the feet to the drip rail may be imprecise and require some modifications. Also, the rack will stop about 7" before the back of the roof, affecting the appearance and mount location of your work lamp.

If the Disco I rack is about 7" to short for the DII that would make the Disco II rack about 7" to long for the Disco I

Just thought you should know what you are getting, and unless you are getting a hell of a deal like almost free I would pass and get a DI rack as they are alot less expensive and abundant.

I would be intrested in knowing where the racks are located since I have a Disco II and want a rack. Please

Thanks Dave. I didn't know this. I was going to buy a rack from Trevor this weekend. He told me it would fit, but he didn't tell me that it was shorter. I'm going to hold out for the correct rack.

How crazy,

I was also talking to Trevor about the rack but he never sent me the shipping information oh well.

I have never measured the rack for the DII personaly I am just going by what I have read here and the FAQ on dicso2. I was original intrested in the DI rack becuase they are less expensive and abundant but decided to use the correct rack since it may look funny having the rack 7" short.

Good luck with your quest

Now if I could get anon from up top to tell me where all of the off lease DII racks are at.

I told Trevor that I would take the rack. I was going to drive up to his shop on Saturday. I guess that's why you didn't hear back from him. He seems like a nice guy. I fell bad not taking the rack now.

I would think Trevor should be able to unload a DII adventure rack easy. If you are close to where trevor is located maybe he would let you test fit it and see what you think. Maybe it would look ok, and you would get a good deal worth a try if he is willing? I have found several DII racks but shipping is a killer so I have had to pass on all of them so far. BUT SOMEDAY someone in Colorado will sell me one for a decent price.

Sorry have been in Boston, the racks i have been offered have been at dealers. Do not ask the guy at the service desk, ask the parts guy or the mechanics, they seem to be about 1/2 off from the front desk to the back, and occasionally i,ve seen slightly dented roof racks and brush bars in their dumpsters awaiting the trash men or E-bay sellers. I'll chaec my source now that i'm back, and let you know specifics. Remember, back room!
