Hey guys. I was out putzing around and after I was done, I unlocked the CDL but the light (amber 4WD icon) didn't go out right away. After a little driving it was still on so put CDL lever into neutral position and then back into High but light stayed on. I let the truck sit around for a couple hours and when I started it again, the light went out. Is this common/normal? Anyone else see this with their trucks? |

Mine does it sometimes and you should probably not drive home with it on because I know for a fact that with my truck when the light is on even though the lever is in the unlocked position my CDL IS still locked. I find that a few speed-up/slow-down maneuvers will get it to go off when it is being picky |

Thanks guys. I was going to go see a movie afterwards but when the light wouldn't go out, I just decided to park it and my brother inlaw drove. When I got back, the light went out and everything seemed fine. I'll look at it again tomorrow to make sure. I forgot about trying to reverse it to disengage it. Thanks for the tips. The dealership mentioned the reverse thing to me once but it never popped into my head today. |

not tryin' to be an ass....but check out the manual...it talks about how the center diff can get wound up...so pop it into reverse for a couple of feet....and back to drive....and you should be good.......u just have to unwind it so to speak.... later |

Hi Jess, Ya, I realized that after Mahn said something about that. I used to have to do that as standard procedure on my Pathfinder to disengage the CDL but for some reason it just never entered my mind for the Disco. It's never happened to me before as it always disengages fairly quickly after I unlock it but today for some reason it didn't and I was in a bit of a hurray so I just parked it and decided to deal with it when I got back. Problem went away when I started the truck up later but I was close to home so it wasn't a big deal. BUT, I know now, and you can bet I won't forget again. |
