have just had a tester placed on my radiator which detects exhaust gasses in the system thus diagnosing faulty head gasket or warped head.what i was wondering was is it possible to have a warped head machines back to a flat surface.i know this would depend on the amount of surface you would have to machine, but are we talking thou or millimeters.has anyone done it before?,will it affect compression?. Brett: It is a fairly common procedure, and one that I will be going through should I ever be able to get the damned heads off my engine. The factory spec for flatness is pretty tight so resurfacing is probably called for. The increase in compression is likely to be miniscule. |
