Hi, Swung by my local Rover Dealer late last night. Was checking out the new 2003 Discos. Saw a couple on the lot which where sitting very low in the rear. I assumed these where the SLS equipped ones. My question is will they always have this profile (high in the front & low in th back) look? TIA |

No. They most likely were new shipments that had "transport mode" engaged on the SLS. They go up to normal height once the vehicle has been PDI'd. However, as with Range Rover, if the vehicle sits for a long time, the airbags will slowly deflate. |

Hi, What's PDI'd mean? TIA |

Pre-Delivery Inspection. All LRs have to be PDI'd before they can be delivered to their new owners. Vehicle is hooked up to test book, programmable NA specs set, all functions tested, air suspension programmed, tire pressures corrected, fluids checked, and a bunch of other stuff is done. |

just kidding

It's also when they install the leaks. |

I have looked at three new 2003 Discos in the last two weeks, and every one had at least one really obvious flaw. One was missing a nut on the intake air tube that attaches to the left fender and the joint was gaping open. One had a busted battery cover latch. One had a warped console switch bezel (the one for the windows, etc). The vehicles were at two different dealers. I am not real impressed with their PDIs. Is this typical? |
