I'm soooooo annoyed. Almost every time I venture off-road this part lets me down. I've talked to the dealer so many times about it that they just laugh.

I'm talking about my mud flaps.

Just last night I thought I'd take a little detour to a nearby construction site and test out my new CDL handle (thanks Chris!). Sure, the CDL worked like a charm. But, yet again, I find that mud has completely covered the sides of my pretty little Disco.

Has anyone else had this problem? Am I the only one suffering through this?

Sure, the mud looks nice. But that's not the point. A part is supposed to do it's job. And the mud flaps fail me every time. Do you think BMW X5 owners put up with this nonsense? NO! Lexus? NO!

I'm writing Consumer Reports. This truck is obviously junk.

:)

expand your mind dude, liberate your truck from the oppressive flaps and good things will come.

My plan is to actually have nature liberate them for me.

That, or a set of rock sliders.

It will be OK. Cut them off and that is one less thing to worry about. Besides I am sure consumer reports have enough on our trucks.

Tripp, we are talking abot mud flaps here. I don't see why you are comparing it to the BMW X5 or Lexus. Most who have that car don't even drive it on a dirt road.

When I go out to get dirty, I have to work to get that mud flyin. I love the mud and so does my rover!

Apparently, I failed to lace my post with sufficient sarcasm.

Dirt is good.

Tripp,
The CDL gives birth to another vehicle don't you think????

BTW, The mudflaps are supposed to collect a bunch of layers of mud so when it lets loose, you get an excellent coating of nature's clear coat instead of the specles from your tires.

For the record, the last time my DII was washed (outside)was in March. Whaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha

Indeed it does Chris. I'm looking forward to doing more than some minor mud slinging with it.

I like the idea of a "natural" film or protective barrier for my paint.

Maybe I'll begin building one up now. :)

My X5 didn't even come with mud flaps. Kind wish my Disco didn't either since it would have saved me the time of taking them off.

Not sure , but I think LR designed the mud flaps to act more as a diffuser, so that the mud makes nice even spray patterns down the sides. Without them....well mud would just clump in the most unsightly manner...and that just wouldn't do :)

Gee, I must be spending way too much at my dealer. Every time I mention one ready to tear off, they GIVE me a set that was removed from a new vehicle getting running boards.

Just a thought about this mudflap deal. Anyone up North had any problem with those monster driving icecicle things clinging to the body insead of the mudflap? Just wondering.

Missing all 4,

I have a couple of brand new D1 mud flaps that I have had for at least 4 years. I have not been brave enough to put them on since the last two went so darned quick.

Anyone wanna trade something?
