Well, I finally got enough money (and balls) to further modify my 1995 Discovery, but I just want to make sure (with you guys) that my plan is okay. here is what I have come up with so far: -3 inch RTE springs -N73F/N25R OME Nitrocharger shocks -265/75-16 Dunlop Radial Rover RT tires -EE rear spring retainers -extended rear brake lines -GBR DC front driveshaft -rear Detroit locker -Rockware rear trailing links -Ashcroft 4.11 gearing -Ashcroft HD rear axle shafts -OME steering dampner -new front radius arm bushings-drilled Over the past 3 years I've owned my DiscoveryI have bought some items like an ARB front bumper, AR steel wheels, AB steering skidplate, $G diff guards, Borla exhaust and a Kenwood soundsystem. I plan to keep my Discovery a very long time, so I would like to get things right the first time. Eventually it will be a trail only rig but that's at least 2 years away. |

I dont' think you can go wrong with any of that stuff. Are you doing all that in one shot? I wouldn't mind taking some of the stock stuff off your hands. Keep the parts and let me know if you want to get rid of or sell any of it. |

Yep all at once. I called Rovertym (for the springs)and Discount Rovers (gears, axles) ready to order, but some of the items that I want are not in stock at the moment, they both were very helpful and said that they should be getting the parts in by mid-January. So that's when I'll order EVERYTHING. The only concern I have is with the steering. But it shouldn't be that big of a deal, right? |

What is your concern with steering? |

while you are putting new gears in the front diff, you should do a TT(or other traction diff)....the TT will also help to cover up your loss of caster... |

i think you should get the balls redrilled at RTE and forget about having the radius arm bushing methode rd |

The bushings are for more flex, not caster correction, right? Tom |

I second the TT up front, and Sam should have some "drilled" busings ready after the new year. They will be cast with the relief slots in them so you don't have to drill anything out. |

Good list. I have the Dunlop Radial Rover RT tires on my '89 Trooper and I love them. |

Why rockware rear links over RTE? |

Price...$160 vs. $250. Yeah I'm going cheap, but I've never heard anything bad about Rockware's rear links. Also, the TT is like $400, and I don't have that kind of money right now, maybe later down the road though. Yes Tom, the bushings are for loosening up the stiff front suspension. I've never seen this done on a Land Rover before, but several jeepers I know have done this, and it helps a lot. |
