My 95 Disco won't start in the morning after it's been parked outside in the rain. Engine turns and turns, but never catches. If I let it dry out on it's own a few hours after it rains, it'll usually start. Help?!

It is most likely either the plug wires or the distrubutor cap. Since it won't start at all I would lean toward the cap.. It may have a small crack in it that you can't even see, but just the moisture in the air is enough to cause it to not start. Sounds funny, but true, ask anyone who has ever owned a VW, happens all the time.

It could be a slew of other things as well, but in my opinion it is probably the cap and/or wires.. Besides, they are relatively cheap, easy to replace, and if it is not that, at least you eliminated one possible cause.

My very basic rules of auto repair: Start simple, look for the basics, Replace inexpensive maintenance items first. For what it's worth......JMcD
