Just purchased a 98 Disco I LE. After getting home, found that the subwoofer put out very very little sound. After replacing the stock subwoofer amp, I find that while it's a little louder, it doesn't even come close to sounding as loud as the pillar speakers. Does this sound right? I know at some point I'll replace all the speakers, but wanted to make sure I don't have underlying problems. TIA |

My sub in my 96 puts out quite a thump. It isn't at all muffled and of course is crossed over so just bass comes through (stock). Sounds like you might have other problems. Is it a stock deck? You might want to check the volume control on the left side of the cluster panel and make sure its all the way up. If its turned down there and you turn the deck up manually the bass tends to sound muffled. Try turning your console swiches all the way up THEN turn your deck up. |
