I have tried to use the search function to search for previous posts on leaking sunroofs but to no avail. I did go to a website posted on here that has the schematics for fixing leaks in the windows. I have a 1995 Disco that has a leaking rear sunroof. I assume it is the sunroof since the water in the headliner seems to be coming from one side of the rear sunroof. It is either the sunroof or the upper window. Where are the holes in the sunroof that the water drains to the tube then to the underside of the truck? Where is it that I need to spray the compressed air to blowout any junk that may be blocking the tube? Thanx Brian Rohan |

I took off the plastic that shields that column, as well as the plastic that frames the top window (the curved one at the very top that makes the disco what it is, whatever the technical name for it is). I found the tube laying just below the window, and pulled it out of the frame work (it goes down the rear pillar to the outside underside of the truck) I blew air into it with my mouth, and everything flows freely. That leads me to believe that it is NOT the drain tubes that are plugged, but now where could the water be coming from? Is it still the sunroof, or is it the very top window on the passenger side? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Brian |

I have been looking for a past post that is great in explaining all the leaks and how to fix them. Some one posted it about 2 monhs ago and I can not find it. It was schematical drawing by LR on how to do it all. If anyone knows hope to get to that link it would help us all. |

if you look behind the bumper, thers a 1/2 in clear plastic hose that comes down the last pillar in the truck. It pokes out there. you need to get on your back and look up into the rear pillar and you will see it if i get a chance tommorw i will get a picture and write up a tech article real quick for the page now i was getting water in the rear of my truck and i feel now that it was making its way through from the rear tail lights |

After pulling down the back part of the head liner, I can see where there is water throughout the entire roof of the truck. I am assuming that it is condensation from water inside the truck from wherever it came from. I left the plastic panels on the rear passenger side off last night, and drooped the clear plastic hose off of the rear sunroof a bit. It rained overnight, but I don't see any water in the sag of the plastic tube at all. Nor do I see any water around the seal of the upper rear side window (the curved one). I am at a loss as to how the water entered the truck. My only conclusion is that when I first noticed it getting wet, we had a very bad storm the night before. Possibly the water had forced its way in through either the sunroof of the window? Now that it is just normal rain, the seals are holding up ok? Could this be possible or am I just being weird? Fed up with leaky sunroof (front and rear) does anybody out there know if you can adjust the roof to tighten up the seals? |
