I have read a lot of posts about cargo doors not opening all appear to be related to the latch. However, mine appears to not be closing all the way and rattles as though it is not quite closed. It is however closed as best as it can. If I do back to the door and apply pressure to it, it will move slightly. Anyone know how to remedy this? |

Brian, Last week I relocated the strike plate (wedge shaped) up just a bit and eliminated a good deal of the rattle in my back door. I am no longer able to push the door in now when in the closed position. Before doing the work, there was about 1/4" to 3/8" of play in the closed position when pushing on the door. Good luck on your Rover project. e |

I tried to adjust the strike plate that is on the door and the bracket that it fits in on the door opening. Seemed to help a bit, but not much and it still rattles pretty bad on when on washboard and bumpy surfaces. I saw a thread where someone said that a LR dealer did an adjustment. Is there any more to adjust? |

depending on the use and age of the truck.. the spare tires add a lot of stress.. I have see the hinges bend a bit(or slip )and cause the sloppiness you talk about.. take a look at the hinges and realign the wedges.... you might have to reset the hinges.. not a big deal just takes a floor jack (to hold the door up) & another set of hands... |
