What options are there for lifting a S2 Disco. The only thing i've seen thus far is ome and SG says anything more than that is an in house install only. My friend tells me its to do with the rear setup of the rear.

on the front you can use the traditional spring change. on the rear if your d2 has airbags you can do it very simply by tricking the sensors into thinking the rear is lower than it is. my dad and i did this on his d2. connecting the controling arms of the rear suspenson to the chassis frame there are two very fragile looking arms. you simply have to make a part to lengthen the conection of the suspension to the vertical part of the said sensors. better than trying to understand what i've written see the webpage i've taken the idea: www.expeditionexchange.com/disco2frontcoils/indexmain.htm i can tell you my father tested it and works fine. since we had bilstein shocks put in the rear suspension actually became softer when lifted, and more confortable. wishes of many miles off-roading to every one.

Not sure why anything else would be an in-house install (whatever that means), but rovertym sells a simply 2" and 3" D2 lift, plus other accessories depending on what exactly you wish to do.

Yes, I'll second Dean's choice. Call John at Rovertym

Rovertym or an OME setup (`Custom' or standard) but even if you have airbags go with the Rovertym spring spacer. Be careful if you lift an air suspension D2 with just the sensor trick if you change the stock shocks.

You might want to replace the air bags at some point with regular springs if you plan a very long trip with a payload - I have seen one set causing problems with overheating and not working well at all, although I guess this could have been just unlucky, I am not sure.

I have a Rovertym 3" lift on my 2001 DII and I am happy with it, however there are a few things to consider if you are going to run the 3" rovertym on a DII.

1. You will need to extend you ABS and Brake lines.

2. The drive shaft will hit the front cross member when you flex, you will need to drop the cross member down or have john at rovertym modify it.

Keep in mind that the disco will "wander" some with a 3" lift and not handle like it did stock, such as more roll in the corners and handle less like a car.

FWIW YMMV YAda Yada Yada
