Langley,

BFG MTs

These are 265/75/R16 and with no trimming, although it is lifted.

With no lift:

265/75/16 - Reverse the bracket that holds the wheel well liner for the front wheel wells.Just holds the plastic back an inch or so. Snug fit but works. Speedo off appr. 8%

245/75/16 - Fits fine no prob.

Jack, my speedo went from +4% to -4%!

That seems about right. Mine is just about an 8% difference. Not sure if mine was +4% before. I wasn't referring to actual speed but the difference in what it read before and after. +4%-(-4%)~8%

I am 245/75 R16 BFG KO ATs. They went on with no trouble at all. No modififations had to be done to my D2. I also had about a -6 speed change.

langley,

I just put 245-75-16s on my rig, and the only complaint I have is that i get some MINOR rubbing on the front wheelwell by the airdam when turning, while the shock is slightly extended. It doesnt hurt it or anything. This problem is going to go away when I put my OME lift on this weekend. Merry xmas to me!

If you want to see pictures of what the tires look like with no lift, drop me a line. I took pictures with them on in stock configuration.

One other thing to consider is putting the tire on the spare tire carrier. I dont know if the other guys had to reverse the spare tire carrier in order to make the 265s fit, but with the 245s, there was no problem....almost perfect fit.

285/75 Yoko's on a DII w/OME HD lift, just a little rubbing on the radius arms at full turn...spare on the roof rack... I had 265 BFG MT's on before the HD spring's, a little tight but no rubbing...invert the tire carrier and the spare will fit...

I have a 2000 stock D2 and am running 245 75 16 Yokohama Geolander AT II. They are an awesome tire with great tread depth and traction in all kinds of weather and terrain. There is no rubbing at all. I did switch the front bracket just to get a little more clearance.

255/70 R16 BFG ATs on my rig, they are a perfect fit and are slightly taller than stock. The only problem is that because its an odd size they are a bit expensive, but for me they were worth it because I will not be lifting my rig anytime soon!!

Take a look at the Toyo Open Country A/T. I just put these on my '01 LE Friday and took off for a 200 mile highway trip this weekend. I bought the 245/75-16 in a 10-ply, load range E. This is a 30.5" O.D. tire. The same tire is available in a 6-ply load range C.
Took very little weight to balance these and they are very smooth at 70-75 mph. Toyo offers a 45 day/ 500 mile guarantee on these if you don't like them for any reason. I'll keep mine after this trip. The price was reasonable too at $495 mounted and balanced.

I also went with 255x70x16 (GY MTR's)and love them. My speedo went from 5% fast to perfect, according to my GPS. Had to modify the spare carrier, removed it and elongated the mounting holes to gain an extra 1/2", now it is just off the bumper.
