I don't know how many people out there have this problem. i have a 96d1 with manual cloth seats and I have to tilt my head just to see if the light is green or not. anybody alter their seat to remedy this problem?

That's what I resort to but I have a bad habit of looking around when I am stopped actually manily looking for hot chicks and modified trucks.

Ditto. 6'4" and use the hood. I'd love to black it out but then I'd never see stop lights.

You can get an extra inch. Unbolt the seats and there are some extra mountin holes on the rails. Look in the archives, I think the main thread on the subject is "number one mod for tall guys" but there are some others too.

Any tips for tall DII owners with electric seats?

The tip Carter mentions is actually for a D2. The height challenged issue we are discussing in the D1 is the windsheild. The roof just comes down to low to see.

Actually it is for a D1 and he wants to know if there are any possible seat adjustments. It might not help the stop light visiblility issue but being 6'2" myself I figured he would like to at least know that more leg room is possible.

My mistake. I swear I read that on the D2.

Time to go back and read the archives...

It's all good Todd. The archives are a great way to kill time.

I'm also 6'4". I'm the guy at the stoplight with his head cocked to the side.

(Hey! The "Discotrotters"! ...or maybe not)

Took the Family to a DRIVEIN MOVIE ( lol, YES i FOUND ONE, ONE STILL EXISTS.!)
Thought it a good idea to put the kids in the front while my spouse and I sat in back. Big mistake, couldn't see the screen. So we all sat in the front, kids on our laps, and reclined the seats and watched the movie. Discos are not idea drivein vehicles, next time ( if there is one) I'll take the family wagon.

There is actually an operational drive-in somewhere in Mississippi of all places, I've seen one in Maine once to that was still working too. I remember reading somewhere that it is becoming increasingly popular to bring them back into working order.

You could mount a strategically mounted prizm on the dash like the old lowriders used to! It was pretty cool... My dad had a 46 Merc the was chopped ad he had the same problem...Me I like to think that short will inherit the earth as auto mfgrs just can't make them big enough for you "above average" guys... Just like fish if your genes like to drive your family will start getting smaller... Whhooo the beer si strating to take effect
