Firstly, Hi,I'm new here. Been on all day searching the archives though. I have what seems to be a common problem but couldn't find a fix. The radio head seems to function correctly but unless volume is up all the way I get no sound from the radio,cd or tape. With the volume all the way up get faint output from the Sub. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it. I'd hate to buy a head and find out it was the amp, and vice versa. I did notice that there was no power at either side the fuse on the back of the amp. Fuses on the lower satelite panel are all good. Thanks Frank |

Thanks Jess. I tried different tapes/cds, turned the ignition on off, disconnected the battery and reset the radio. Didn't work for me. Glad yours worked out OK though Frank |

Get the head unit out of the dash and find a set of spkr wires coming directly out of the deck, hook up a speaker to those leads and see what you get, if it works fine at that point then your amps are fried, if not then it is your head unit. Good Luck!! |

Corey, I didn't think I could do that since the head uses low level lineoutsand isn't amplified. I'll try it Thanks |

Check the volume buttons on the side of the instrument cluster. If the volume is down on these it will do the same thing |

I'm going to somewhat hi-jack this thread. I've got a similar problem. My sub has stopped working except for some slight output that you have put your ear on the speaker to hear. It seems like my other speakers are gradually fading as well. Does this sound like an amp problem or just a busted sub? I don't know jack about stereos, so any help would be appreciated. Sorry about snagging the post. JR |

I tried the buttons on the cluster, no change. Also disconnected them and that didn't help either. Ramsay, no problem. radio problems seem to be a part Of Disco ownership. Can't complain though I've had mine for 4 years with few problems |

Try this, under your pass seat is a small amp, I have a 95 d1 too. Check the power going to it, also there is a fuse there, try checking that. I had the same problems you described, low output ect. My trucks amps fuse was blown. You will have this amp even if you don't have the high spec stereo system. Andy 95 d1 slc ut |
