I have a leaking rear axle seal. Are any special tools neede for this repair? I assume you need to pull the axle out of the housing for this repair. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. Justin 99 DII |

None, it is an easy job. D'Oh, you'll need a hub nut tool, 2-1/16". Also, a 14 m/m 12-point wrench for the caliper mounting bolts. Other than those two, it's straightforward. If you haven't gottne the seals yet, the RTC 3511 is considered by some to be the better seal as it is double lipped and has a nifty little ridge to indicate correct insertion depth. Paul |

Will I need to remove the diff cover? Justin |

Justin: You will find that the diff "Cover" is unremoveable. If you have a diff guard, you may be able to get the fill plug out without removing the guard. I may have mis-spoken with my suggestion of a seal as the one I gave earlier is for the series I Disco. Peace, Paul |
