I just picked up a used genuine D2 brush bar which has some scuff marks (metal showing) and some small rust spots. Seems like there is some type of rubberized coating on the bar. I wanted to sand it down and repaint / repair the rusted areas.
Has anyone had experience trying this? Any recommendations on a paint color to match? or any opinions on the best way to do this?
Thanks

When you take the rubber/plastic coating off use a heat gun or blow dryer with an old knife.
I refinished my ARB with plasti-kote truck bed liner. A friend of mine liked how it looked and refinished his D1 brushbar with it.
You can get it at Discount Auto. $7.00 per can and for a good coat it should take 2 cans. Buy one extra for touch up. It also shine's up good with armor-all.
