When you take the rubber/plastic coating off use a heat gun or blow dryer with an old knife. I refinished my ARB with plasti-kote truck bed liner. A friend of mine liked how it looked and refinished his D1 brushbar with it. You can get it at Discount Auto. $7.00 per can and for a good coat it should take 2 cans. Buy one extra for touch up.
